Curry County Awarded FY26 New Mexico Que Linda Grant

Curry County is proud to announce it has been awarded $200,000 through the FY26 New Mexico Que Linda Grant Program. This funding, provided by the New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT), will support litter control and beautification projects across the county.

The Que Linda Program helps communities statewide enhance their appearance and promote environmental stewardship by funding local initiatives that preserve New Mexico’s natural beauty. With this award, Curry County will continue its efforts to create cleaner, safer, and more welcoming public spaces.

Curry County plans to use this funding to continue its Inmate Litter Abatement Program, launch a Business Pledge Program, and restore medians along Highway 60 leading to Cannon Air Force Base. The grant will also allow the County to provide dumping services to rural communities through roll-off containers.

Additionally, youth-focused activities and contests will be expanded, including a billboard design competition, art contests, youth-led litter pickups, and more. The County will also continue to grow its Illegal Dumping Hotline and provide ongoing education to the community about littering and illegal dumping.
