PRESS RELEASE
Curry County Beautification Program Launches the Secure Your Load Initiative
The Curry County Beautification Program is proud to announce a new Secure Your Load Initiative aimed at helping reduce litter caused by unsecured loads traveling on local roadways.
Beginning June 1, 2026, Curry County residents may visit the Grants Office, located at 818 N. Main Street, to receive a free tarp and set of straps to properly secure loads during transport. Residents must provide proof of Curry County residency to participate.
This initiative is part of the ongoing effort to keep Curry County clean, safe, and litter-free by preventing debris from falling onto roadways and public areas. Unsecured loads are a major contributor to roadside litter and can also create hazardous driving conditions.
“We want to provide residents with the tools they need to help keep our community clean,” said Karina Baeza, Beautification Program Coordinator. “Something as simple as securing a load with a tarp and straps can make a big difference in preventing litter and improving roadway safety.”
Supplies will be available while quantities last.
