• Always use caution when handling fire. 
• All fine dead fuels ignite readily and fires start easily from most causes.
• Wildland grass fires can spread quickly.
• Moderate and higher wind speeds can rapidly increase fire spread.
• Danger to life and property increases.

Call First

• If burning is allowed in Curry County, you must provide the Clovis Dispatch Center, at (575) 769-1921, with the following contact information listed below, BEFORE you burn:
  • First & Last name of person who will remain onsite until fire is extinguished.
  • Phone number of person responsible for overseeing fire.
  • Location/address of fire and type of material being burned.
  • When fire will be started and when it will be extinguished.
